Purpose of Role

The Design and Engineering Support Analyst provides application support for a range of Design and Engineering services in use across McLaren. The role provides excellent customer focus to resolve requests, incidents and problems relating to complex engineering tool sets.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Maintains service operation, performance, and security of applications within McLaren’s  Design and Engineering community
  • Provides operational support and guidance to Service Analysts and McLaren service users
  • Provides system administration of Design and Engineering applications
  • Provides pro-active problem management to identify and resolve root causes
  • Testing of application enhancements / improvements to confirm functionality and user benefit
  • Is a SME in Design and Engineering providing best practice guidance to users
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft operating systems. Linux and/or Solaris knowledge would be advantageous.  
  • Application Management skills e.g., license management, access management, configuration. Experience of CAD and Product Data Management systems like CATIA, ENOVIA, 3DExperience, Teamcenter would be advantageous. 
  • Customer focused approach with good communications and prioritisation skills
  • Attention to detail with a pragmatic determination to solve problems 
  • Have an inquisitive interest in Engineering, Manufacturing and ideally in the Automotive or Aerospace sectors. 
  • Remote desktop/technical support experience
  • IT infrastructure analysis & troubleshooting skills (hardware, network, virtualisation)
  • Familiarity with Microsoft SQL Server or other database technologies
