What to Expect

Deliver high quality CATIA V5 design work for MSO components and systems, turning design intent into robust, manufacturable CAD collaboratively with the Project Engineer. Create hardpoints and engineering references for the Design Studio, support packaging studies and ensure designs meet technical, timing and feasibility targets.

Occasional travel to McLaren’s Bicester facility as project needs dictate.

What You'll Do
  • Own the detailed design of MSO components and systems from early concept through to design release.
  • Create CATIA V5 models to McLaren standards, ensuring feasibility and alignment with design intent.
  • Generate hardpoints, datums and engineering references for Design Studio surfacing.
  • Produce detailed manufacturing drawings with full GD&T and specification control.
  • Work closely with Project Engineers to meet technical, commercial and timing targets.
  • Liaise with suppliers to validate manufacturing feasibility, materials and process constraints.
  • Support creation of jigs, fixtures and tooling where required.
  • Represent MSO Design in internal reviews and support issue resolution related to design feasibility or CAD quality.

What You'll Bring

  • Degree in Mechanical, Automotive or related engineering discipline.
  • Strong proficiency in CATIA V5 (surfacing and parametric solids).
  • Experience designing components in high-performance automotive or motorsport environments.
  • Understanding of manufacturing techniques for metallic and composite components
  • Competence with GD&T, drawing creation and release processes.
  • Familiarity with CAE tools to support design intent.
  • Strong organisational skills and ability to manage multiple work packages in parallel.
  • Clear communicator with a collaborative, positive approach.
