Purpose of Role

This role will be responsible for supporting the Product Strategy Team and inputting across multiple aspects of the Product Strategy function, including: Cross carline features and options content and pricing. MSO, Motorsport and accessories content and pricing.  

Principal Accountabilities

Cross Carline Feature and Options

  • Responsible for reporting competitor and segment content. Drawing on market data and primary research sources to provide analysis within the market and segments.
  • Tracking cross carline specification and synthesise recommendations to the strategy team and Product Managers.
  • Liaise with the Regional Product and Sales teams to further understand product feedback and sales performance.
  • To do so you will need to develop your understanding of the luxury automotive segment and be able to identify the changing needs of the customer base and recognise the appropriate opportunities for McLaren.

MSO:

  • Analysis of market conditions and support the definition of pricing strategy.
  • Support primary customer research.
  • Monitor portfolio and regional price positioning.

Vehicle Accessory Product Definition:

  • Responsible for reporting competitor and segment content.
  • Responsible for tracking current performance and identifying opportunities to maximise lifetime revenue[FR1] .
  • Drawing on market data and primary research sources to provide recommendations of new product concepts, you will work with the Product Manager and accessories team to develop the initial business case – setting key targets and attributes, identifying target customer types to establish the product positioning.

Business Planning activities:

  • Support enterprise-wide business planning tasks.
  • Profile cross car line uptakes and inform the business planning process.
  • Synthesise complex data into insight for cross functional directional insights.
Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Educated to degree level
  • Experience within the Automotive (or relevant) industry, in particular Sales and Marketing is desirable.
  • Experience analysing trends through data sets, relating to the Automotive industry is desirable.
  • PC literate – highly competent in Excel (able to construct and manage complex spreadsheets) and PowerPoint (able to independently produce powerful presentations).
  • Language – fluent in English, an additional language is an advantage.
