What to Expect

The Motorsport Control System Engineer will be a key member of the team responsible for the development, validation, delivery and support of the complete vehicle control systems used across the range of McLaren Motorsport Vehicles. Working within a small team, the candidate would be able to grow technically and contribute to a dynamic environment.


What You'll Do
  • Support the development of mechatronic control systems
  • Data mining, analysis and dissemination
  • Trackside support for development testing and customer events as required
  • Support dynamometer / test bed rigging and calibration activities
  • Harvest mathematical modelling techniques to describe vehicle, powertrain and actuator behaviour
  • Develop technical capabilities and tools as required by the business
  • Support the analysis of field issues and provide relevant solutions


What You'll Bring

  • Educated to Degree level in an Engineering, Computer Science or Mathematics- / Physics-based Discipline
  • Model-based application software coding using Matlab/Simulink or similar
  • Experience with Python, Java or SQL favourable
  • Ability to code and willingness to learn different coding languages if requirements dictate
  • “Can-do” problem-solving attitude and ability to work under pressure
  • Personal interest in electromechanical systems and engines would be desirable
  • Previous experience in a Motorsport or OEM environment preferred but not essential
  • Experience of powertrain or transmission control systems development advantageous
  • Ability and willingness to create technical documentation for referencing purposes
