What to Expect

We are currently seeking a competent and skilled Machinist to join our team at McLaren Composites Technology Centre (MCTC).

What You'll Do

Knowledge and application of technical skills to set up and operate machinery, fixtures and tooling safely and effectively to meet the production plan
Support Team Leader with completion of minor maintenance tasks / activities and potentially cover when the TL is offsite
Upskilling and training of new hires
Ensure the work area is clean, tidy and orderly at all times in line with brand expectations and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others
Provide a proactive contribution to innovation and problem solving
Provide support on all processes in the department

What You'll Bring

Minimum of 2 years working as a CNC Machinist with a proven record in CNC machine setting and operation
Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and regulations to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safely
Knowledge of Siemens control systems and CAM/CAD software is an advantage
Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on the-job expertise
Has an extensive knowledge of CNC tooling including tool wear and performance and setting using pre-setters
Comprehensive understanding of work offsets
Experienced in calibration using DTI clocks
Experienced in using measuring equipment, thread gauges, plug gauges, calipers etc.
Excellent problem-solving abilities
Ability to inspect their own work, and follow detailed engineering drawings
PC literate
