What to Expect
We are currently seeking a competent and skilled Machinist to join our team at McLaren Composites Technology Centre (MCTC).
What You'll Do
  • Knowledge and application of technical skills to set up and operate machinery, fixtures and tooling safely and effectively to meet the production plan
  • Support Team Leader with completion of minor maintenance tasks / activities and potentially cover when the TL is offsite
  • Upskilling and training of new hires
  • Ensure the work area is clean, tidy and orderly at all times in line with brand expectations and maintain a safe working environment for yourself and others
  • Provide a proactive contribution to innovation and problem solving
  • Provide support on all processes in the department
What You'll Bring
  • Minimum of 2 years working as a CNC Machinist with a proven record in CNC machine setting and operation
  • Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and regulations to ensure guidelines are followed and machinery and equipment are operated safely
  • Knowledge of Siemens control systems and CAM/CAD software is an advantage
  • Has developed proficiency in a range of processes or procedures through job-related training and considerable on the-job expertise
  • Has an extensive knowledge of CNC tooling including tool wear and performance and setting using pre-setters
  • Comprehensive understanding of work offsets
  • Experienced in calibration using DTI clocks
  • Experienced in using measuring equipment, thread gauges, plug gauges, calipers etc.
  • Excellent problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to inspect their own work, and follow detailed engineering drawings
  • PC literate
