McLaren Automotive is a commercially driven environment, with particular emphasis on supplier development and effective negotiation. You will be working with a highly skilled and motivated team within Procurement focusing on Low Volume & Operations within MSO and Motorsport. The role will be developing best practice procurement techniques and supply chains that support our vehicle development and manufacturing requirements.
· Initially reporting to the Head of Purchasing whilst the final organisation design is finalised.
· Life-cycle responsibility delivering high quality, value for money components into McLaren.
· Accountability for cost and budget management for direct-spend portfolios.
· New supplier identification and introduction into McLaren and ongoing relationship management.
· Issuing RFQ and issuing purchase orders within SLAs.
· Deliver commodity strategy and nomination approvals in line with business requirements aligned with the organisation’s key stakeholders.
· Reference and awareness of technology and quality roadmaps within scope.
· Negotiate, execute and monitor contractual agreements with suppliers.
· Deliver cost down targets through commercial and VA/VE methods.
· Work cross-functionally with all departments to drive core quality, cost principles and process.
· Develop strong, long-term relationships with Suppliers.
· Managed supplier performance on cost, quality and on time delivery.
· Drive to identify and develop continuous improvement opportunities.
· Demonstrate exceptional organisational skills whilst adhering to accuracy and detail in reporting.
· Degree / MCIPS preferred but not essential.
· Worked within a low volume, bespoke environment previously.
· Proven commercial background / strong negotiator.
· Previous manufacturing / automotive experience is essential.
· Proven supply chain experience in dealing with both high and low value organisations.
· Promote best practice procurement techniques.
· Enthusiastic and self-motivated to work autonomously.
· Keen attention to accuracy and detail.
· Ability to work to deadlines and demands.
· A strong, clear and confident communicator.
