Purpose of Role

You will be working as part of a high performing and agile team, with direct report into the Purchasing Manager, and a Senior buyer. Cross functional engagement with our Engineering, Quality, Production, Cost Reduction and Legal Teams is vital for successful delivery and performance.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Support cost reduction activity as per senior buyer commodity deck  
  • Support sourcing activity as required  
  • Support tracking of budgets and targets  
  • New supplier identification and loading to appropriate systems in McLaren  
  • Support with strategy and nomination desks, and support with cross functional sign off.  
  • Reference and awareness of technology and quality roadmaps within scope.  
  • Work cross-functionally with all departments 

Knowledge, Skills and Experience
  • Proven experience within a direct purchasing role
  • Demonstrate commercial success within an Automotive/manufacturing environment
  • Excellent organisation skills
  • Deadline adherence

  • Able to act under pressure with calmness and clarity of thought
