The Manager will be responsible for licensing & joint ventures and will support the identification, evaluation, structuring, and execution of strategic partnerships. Working closely with the Business Development Director, this role is responsible for detailed analysis, financial modelling, coordination of transactions, and ongoing partnership management.
This is a hands-on role focused on turning strategy into executable deals and ensuring partnerships deliver against plan.
Market Analysis & Opportunity Identification
- Conduct market research and competitive analysis to identify partnership opportunities
- Support prioritisation of target markets, sectors, and partners
- Build and maintain a pipeline of potential licensing and JV opportunities
- Prepare briefing materials on new markets and entry strategies
Partner Screening & Evaluation
- Support the identification and initial assessment of potential partners
- Analyse partner capabilities across:
- Financial strength
- Operational capability
- Market access and network
- Prepare partner profiles and recommendation papers
Financial Modelling & Commercial Analysis
- Develop and maintain detailed financial models for licensing and JV opportunities
- Analyse
- Revenue forecasts
- Cost structures
- Capital requirements
- Profitability and returns (IRR, payback)
- Run scenario and sensitivity analysis to support decision-making
- Support the design of commercial structures for licensing and JV deals
Licensing:
- Model royalty structures and minimum guarantees
- Assess pricing and margin implications
Joint Ventures:
- Support analysis of equity structures and funding requirements
- Model profit share and capital deployment scenarios
5. Transaction Execution & Coordination
- Coordinate internal workstreams across:
- Legal
- Finance
- Tax
- Operations
- Support preparation of:
- Investment papers
- Deal summaries
- Approval documentation
- Track progress against transaction timelines and milestones
- Coordinate and support due diligence processes
- Gather and analyse data across:
- Financial performance
- Operational metrics
- Legal and regulatory considerations
- Identify key risks and support mitigation plannin
- Support implementation of governance frameworks for JVs and licensing agreements
- Track and report on partner performance vs targets
- Prepare materials for:
- Board meetings
- Steering committees
- Monitor KPIs and flag underperformance
- 8. Reporting & Performance Tracking
- Maintain dashboards tracking:
- Pipeline development
- Deal status
- Financial performance of partnerships
- Provide regular reporting to the Business Development Director and senior stakeholders
- Act as a central point of coordination across internal teams
- Ensure alignment between commercial, legal, and operational requirements
- Support transition from deal signing to operational execution
- Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Quality and accuracy of financial models and analysis
- Contribution to successful deal execution (on time, on plan)
- Pipeline development and progression
- Quality of investment papers and decision support materials
- Effectiveness of due diligence and risk identification
- Partner performance tracking and reporting accuracy
- Experience in corporate development, business development, consulting, or finance
- Exposure to partnerships, licensing, joint ventures, or M&A (preferred)
- Experience in financial modelling and commercial analysis
- Experience working in cross-functional project environments
- Strong financial modelling and analytical capability
