Purpose of Role

As Aftersales Product Specialist, you will project manage the design, creation and development of the Aftersales Accessories and Retrofit product portfolio. This will ensure that McLaren is at the forefront of the Aftermarket in the products that we offer for further personalisation and usability to existing and future owners alongside Pre-Owned Vehicles.

Principal Accountabilities

-          Develop and manage a portfolio of Accessory and Retrofit products across all current and legacy McLaren vehicles

-          Ensure a credible portfolio of Accessory and Retrofit products are available ahead of market launch of future vehicles

-          Support the definition of new products, drawing on market data and primary research sources to provide recommendations of new product concepts

-          Working with the Aftersales Commercial Manager to develop the initial business case – detailing with product USPs, setting key targets and attributes, competitor research, pricing amongst other key topics to establish the product positioning

-          To project manage, the end to end product development process including the concept, design, development, DFMEA, testing evaluation and business case justification processes in bringing products to market

-          You will prepare data and information to help the Aftersales Product Manager understand and address individual market requirements, suggesting proposed changes/improvements to the product to improve performance

-          Day to day coordination of product development to ensure adherence to timing plans are maintained, liaising with (but not limited to): Suppliers, Internal teams, Engineering and Marketing functions

-          Support global regional team to deliver the revenue targets through new product introduction, answering queries, highlighting opportunities and developing sales support assets.

Knowledge, Skills and Experience

-          Experienced in project or product management and influencing key stakeholders in the product development process

-          Knowledge and experience of vehicle and product systems (including design) preferred

-          Experience in agency / supplier management essential

-          Strong written and verbal communication skills

-          High level of customer orientation

-          Ability to influence and engage at all levels in order to maximise Aftersales share of voice

-          Proficiency in Microsoft Operating System & programs

-          Commercial understanding

-          Strong technical understanding

-          Experience of computer aided design systems is desired but not essential
