Description & Requirements

No restraints. No limitations. We don’t simply push boundaries. We completely rethink them. McLaren Automotive exists to create breath-taking performance road cars.

With innovation at the core of all we do, every challenge starts with the same question. How can we do it better? This restless spirit runs right through McLaren Automotive. And the search for perfection is evident in everything we do.

To ensure McLaren Automotive continues its desire to be “the sportscar company”, we are looking for an SQA Manager to join Supplier Quality Assurance team.

Purpose of Role

·         Manages the day-to-day running of all core parts quality processes (Hotline, NCMP, RTV) and the resources that carry them out (approximately 8-10 personnel).

·         Leads the generation of a suite of standardised supplier performance metrics, and their use in escalating problematic suppliers.

·         Manages any supplier responsible Q-Spill activities in MPC alongside Quality Engineering.

·         Works cross functionally with both SQA Management and Operations (Logistics, Manufacturing) to establish a combined agreed status for supplied parts quality disruptions (“high hurts suppliers”) ensuring that improvement plans are in place and regularly reviewed.

·         Researches and implements best practices for quality standards, process controls, and inspection/test, which not only fully reflect the parts’ control plan – but also cover the needs of all manufacturing process from BIW, Paint, Pilot Build and General Assembly (e.g. electrical function, outer surface inspection, geometric validation, …).

·         Works alongside New Product Quality and SQA management to ensure the correct governance of development quality targets and KPIs (i.e. APQP, PPAP) with a view to ensuring these are completed and green before Job 1.

·         Acts as the single voice for plant parts quality topics, communicating status against all supplier responsible down time, NCP, and rework topics into daily production meetings.

·         Drives both internal (CCAR, QCR) and external (8D) problem solving and escalation processes, maintaining a good working relationship with relevant stakeholders.

·         Ensures that customer focused KPIs (McLaren Product Audit, PDI, 0-3MIS Warranty) from series are mapped back into the suppliers’ quality inspection systems for control and internal campaign, if needed.

·         Manages a team of engineers, team leaders and technicians on a multi shift pattern (in total ~ 13 personnel).
