Purpose of Role

As the Senior Engineer in Launch Quality, you will be responsible for all Quality Audit process for both Series and New model programmes. This will require you to manage a small team of individuals to deliver all aspects of the role.

The role is also required to develop our Launch Quality Operating System (LQOS), supporting the delivery of all new models through the development phases into series. 

The role relies upon excellent interpersonal and communication skills, while building important relationships at all levels both internally and externally across the business.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Quality Audit Processes (inspection). Leading a small team to:
    • Development of existing Standard Operating Procedures (SOP’s)
    • Defining SOPs for all New Models.
  • Launch Quality Operating System (LQOS)
    • Managing the delivery of all processes within LQOS to ensure a smooth journey for all Projects through the development phases and into series.
    • Ensuring we develop LQOS with all lessons learned.
  • New Model Launch
    • Delivery of all MDP2 objectives to ensure a green status at each Project Gateway G2-G9.
    • Clear weekly reporting for all current programs
Knowledge, Skills and Experience

A degree in mechanical / automotive engineering or similar (2:1 or above) or equivalent experience in a similar role.

You must also meet the following “minimum requirements” for this position:

  • Methodical approach to work with strong analytical skills
  • Self-starter capable of using initiative
  • Launch of low volume vehicles into the production environment

Ideally you will also have experience with:

  • New product development experience in the Automotive Industry
  • People management experience
