What to Expect

As a Head of Finance, you will oversee all aspects of the financial business cases for all Performance Vehicle Lines.  You will have a team of Senior Analysts and Analysts managing individual programmes and product families within the portfolio, working closely with Vehicle Line Directors and Project Management Office colleagues.  You will have overall responsibility for forecasting, reporting and challenging Engineering, Design, Launch and Vehicle Line Delivery teams to optimise the return on investment.  Working closely with the teams who design, develop and deliver our future luxury performance vehicles.


This role will also work closely with Cost Engineering Team and Procurement function for programme Bill of Material.  You will work with Commercial and Manufacturing teams too to ensure the business case for each programme reflects the full vehicle lifecycle, meaning this has a very broad reach across our business and the ability to really impact our investment returns and deliver shareholder value.


What You'll Do

- Act as a strategic business partner to the Chief Vehicle Programmes Officer - Performance (CVPO-P), providing financial insights and challenging assumptions to drive better business outcomes. This includes collaborating on strategic initiatives and ensuring financial considerations are integrated into decision-making processes 

- Recruit, develop, and manage a high-performing finance team. Foster a collaborative and inclusive team culture, providing mentorship and professional development opportunities to enhance team capabilities and achieve organisational goals

- Deliver comprehensive financial analysis and insights for programmes leveraging commercial expertise to guide decision-making

- Drive decision making on cross-car line topics including systems strategy and parts commonality to leverage both capital expenditure efficiency and economies of scale

- Ensure timely delivery of month end results across Performance Programmes, including detailed variance analysis, insightful commentary, and implementation of improvement initiatives to increase forecast accuracy

- Identify, assess, and mitigate programme financial risks while proactively seeking and capitalising on opportunities for financial growth and efficiency. Develop risk management strategies and implement measures to safeguard programme financial health.

- Deliver cost control through your team on Bill of Materials (BOM) and programme capital expenditure to optimise financial return.

- Challenge cross functionally to ensure stakeholder accountability for programme and portfolio results.

- Uphold the highest standards of financial integrity and accuracy in all financial reporting and operations. Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, internal policies, and ethical standards, maintaining the trust and confidence of stakeholders

- Promote and implement continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function and broader programme organisation. This involves regularly reviewing processes, identifying areas for enhancement, and encouraging innovative solutions.

What You'll Bring
  • Qualified Accountant or Equivalent (ACCA / ICAEW / ICAS / CIMA )
  • 5 years minimum Leadership experience in Automotive or Engineering environment
  • Strong commercial acumen with extensive experience of delivering results in fast-paced and high-growth environments
  • Robust influencing skills with ability to flex approach to achieve desired outcomes
  • Strong system skills including SAP and MS Office, particularly Excel (Pivot tables, vlookups, Power Query, etc)
