Purpose of Role

The McLaren Automotive Purchasing Department is an exciting yet demanding, fast paced and commercially driven environment. Due to impressive growth both within the team and at McLaren, we are currently recruiting for several Assistant Buyer roles across different commodities including Electrical, Interior, Powertrain and Engine. These roles will help shape our future and will ensure we meet and smash our ambitious production plans.

 

You will be working as part of a high performing and agile team, with direct report into the Purchasing Manager.  Cross functional engagement with our Engineering, Quality, Production and Legal Teams is vital for successful delivery and performance.

An Assistant Buyer role is perfect if you’re looking to get into a Buyer career, a recent Graduate or have a couple of years experience as a Purchasing Assistant.  You will have the opportunity to learn lots with a clear progression plan.

Principal Accountabilities
  • Life-cycle responsibility delivering high quality, value for money components into McLaren.
  • Negotiate, execute and monitor contractual agreements with suppliers with support from Purchasing colleagues
  • Work cross-functionally with all departments to drive core quality, cost principles and process.
  • Develop strong, long-term relationships with Suppliers.
  • Managed supplier performance on cost, quality and on time delivery.
